The older woman with short grey hair (which I believe is the owner) is terrible to deal with. The first time I dealt with her I was trying to return an expensive life jacket I bought for my dog and it didn’t fit. She didn’t want to return it and made a big deal out of it. This just put a bad taste in my mouth as we are new customers and new the area looking for a quality pet store. The second encounter I had with her, I went into the store with my partner to get some things for my cat. We were never greeted or even acknowledged. We couldn’t find the product we were looking for so we walked out. She then opened the door as we were outside in the parking lot to ask if we needed help. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. There’s too many pet stores in Kelowna to put up with customer service like that. Highly recommend sunshine pet supplies instead!!
Was wowed! I’m new to the area and was looking for a place that can clip my dog’s nails. The employee was the sweetest, friendliest lady and spoiled my dog with treats and a gentle nail clipping. My dog is usually shy and a bit fearful but gentle, she did great and enjoyed her treats:) I guess my dog’s nails weren’t too long and I wasn’t even charged for our first service. I will definitely go back for nail clippings and to purchase treats!
Love this place. Went in for dog food, they didn't have my usual kind but they took the time to look up what I usually bought, and compared the recipe to other foods that they carry. Turns out I've been feeding my dog garbage this entire time (hills science diet) which explains why he never wanted to eat it, and would always throw it up. They were able to help me pick a way healthier option. They're the only pet store I've ever been into that actually took the time to do that and I'm so grateful. Highly recommend.
Was very happy with my experience at pet planet. I took my cat in to get his nails trimmed and Nicholas did a great job. My cat usually does not like his nails clipped but he was so calm. The store also had a great selection of items. Definitely do recommend shopping here if you have a cat or a dog!
The older woman working the counter who was completely judgemental of a younger customer walking into the store was disgraceful. I watched her single out the young woman because she was dressed in black and wearing a hat. The young woman was looking for an item that had been recommended to her from a friend that was sold at Pet Planet and the til woman completely questioned every thing the young woman had said to her. It was shameful to see this employee treat a hard working human so terribly when she was just looking to find new options for chews for her teething puppy. I spoke to the young woman outside who expressed that she felt bullied inside this establishment. Shame on this older employee who knows nothing of this young woman’s life. I would not recommend this business. Treat people with kindness, you don’t know their story. It’s worth it to me now to drive to a locally owned business than deal with a chain.
