The atmosphere of Fernbrae is different from every old folks home ive been to. Everyone there, residents and staff, are very welcoming and they all seem to care deeply about one another. From what ive seen, the staff goes above and beyond to put effort into helping with any problems the residents have. :D
Fernbrae is a good independent senior home other than services that are provided outside the cost of rent. When I moved my father in it took sometime to get the room ready ( paint, cleaning, ect ) Understandable due to busy-ness of the Manor. ( noted that it was not painted or cleaned previously ) Great food, positive atmosphere. 8 Months later Cons, 1Room was rarely cleaned by staff, I found ants crawling all over his room. They promised to install the air conditioner I provided within a week of move in. This never happened in the 8 months of his tenancy. ( it was on his floor the entire stay despite requests every week to install it ) Grooming and shaving were checked off on the staffs checklist yet he was growing a beard.... Two months after he was moved out i was expecting my father to get his full deposit within two months, which it did BUT they charged my father a $300.00 cleaning service ( paint, cleaning and shampooing of the carpets) They do not paint nor clean anything until a new resident is acquired for the room ( pretty much charging for '' potential '' services in the future ) As noted above they do not clean nor paint UNTIL you are right about to move in. Great atmosphere but yet another money grab senior home tsk tsk.
